Court stays Tax Exemption to Maan karate...!!

A case against Maan Karate has been filed against 30% tax exemption provided to Maan Karate film. The exemption is provided only to tamil films with Tamil title and it should promote the tamil Language and culture.

But the word Karate is not a Tamil word and petitioner questions about how the tax exemption was availed. Moreover the film Maan Karate has been opposed by some who claims that the film is mocking at Thirukural and the knowledge of Thirukural by the Tamil people.

Chennai High Court on hearing the case said that a film should satisfy four conditions to be eligible for tax exemption.

The conditions are

1. The film should have U certificate from the censor board.

2.It should promote Tamil Language and culture.

3.Dialogues should be in Tamil.

4.Violence only up to a limit.

The court has stayed the tax exemption provided by the government to Maan Karate and to the other films and a notice has been issued to the Goverment.
